Obviously married couples need help.

I learned this interesting fact:

Most new couples are not making it to year 5.

My husband and I are in year 7 - so we've made it longer than most. Which surprised me and brought an odd sort of optimism.

Isn't that sadly different and new? Previous generations in my family celebrated 30 and 50 year anniversaries.

I'm feeling optimistic about our chances today.Tracee Sioux, Sioux Ink: Soul Purpose Publishinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06511311972798310564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8066901051112310981.post-53162877735344378872007-11-12T15:57:00.000-06:002007-11-12T15:57:00.000-06:00That sounds like a great program! I also hadn't heard of it before.

At my previous church, we started a group for married couples back when we and a few friends were newlyweds. The group continues to this day, with new people joining. The group was ostensibly to discuss marriage issues, but it became more than that, a support system of friends.

So far, no one who's participated in the group for more than a year has divorced. Of course, we're all still fairly young, married <10 yrs., but I think that's a pretty good sign these kinds of things work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8066901051112310981.post-60160441158805473512007-09-09T16:17:00.000-05:002007-09-09T16:17:00.000-05:00I also look forward to hearing updates.I also look forward to hearing updates.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8066901051112310981.post-70621350428483825612007-09-07T21:19:00.000-05:002007-09-07T21:19:00.000-05:00Wonderful blog. Many people don't think about this. They just want the easy way out. I pray that you two will be successful.ThriftyMommyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08281570695682066243noreply@blogger.com
