You just don't want to miss the Carnival of Radical Feminists. Doesn't that just sounds like . . .Well, use your own imagination and leave a comment about the picture that forms in your own mind.
Of great comfort to me is that I'm not the only one who isn't so much disturbed by pornography as the trend toward violent pornography. The mixture of sex and violence in mainstream television, on the Internet, novels, commercials (Misogynistic Violence for Breakfast) - well, it's a highly disturbing trend every mother of a girl should be concerned about. Hell, every woman should be concerned about it. The presence of violence as a legitimate turn-on is a clue to how angry men are and how they fantasize about re-obtaining power.

I can't even watch mainstream horror. To me it's scary that the mainstream has become mainstream. The American audience accepts much more than I as an individual care to.
I don't even watch Law and Order or worse the CSI Special Crimes Victims Unit. It's an entire hour of horrific details of crimes against women. What the bleep is going on that this is "entertainment?"
Ever since 8mm - that movie about violent pornography, it's become more and more acceptable.
How do we stop it?
I don't watch any of those shows either, and yet I'm always shocked that they consistently remain so highly rated.
You are so right - what is wrong with our culture that we entertain ourselves with violent crime, rape, pedophilia, sex abuse, incest and murder? I'll take Janet Jackson's boob any day.
