Don't Be A Girl

Get your shoes on Zack, come to Home Depot with me, he said.

We were going to watch Jon and Kate plus Ei8ht, I said.

He'd rather go to the hardware store.

Zack loves the babies. It's his favorite show.

What do you want to do Zack? Pick the hardware store. Don't be a girl!

There is nothing wrong with being a girl!

Sometimes I think he forgets who he's married to.

There's been improvements but discrimination and disdain towards girls is still everywhere.

It's become worse post 9-11 - people that were hiding their rampant sexism and racism decided to use 9-11 as an excuse to be more open about it.

I am bi-racial and female - neither of those things are crimes or "wrong" and i should not be a target for ignorant bigotry.

To the person who called me a "spic" on the train yesterday, i just ask, "would you call your mother, sister, daughter or niece, that?"

I think Hillary running is also bringing to the for-front some anti-female feelings that went unnoticed before.

I'm sorry someone treated you that way Marta. You deserve better.
