At least she's not turning her hand around and explaining about English archers taunting the French with their arrow firing fingers and how that makes it ok to make rude gestures at people. Serves me right for teaching my kids some history.

When I was a kid, the bunny ears did mean "kiss me now, marry me later". It spread all over primary schools.
Not sure it's still used today though...
Really, how old are you? Maybe it's regional. I never heard this one as a kid.
