Y's Letter to My Body

Yvonne from Joy Unexpected read this as the Community Keynote at BlogHer.

I don't ever want my daughter to feel the way that I have felt most of my adult life about my body.

Bravo Y.

If you can't watch her read it, you should read her Life Change Words.

Wow-powerful letter. I think that many people have body distortion issues, and it's unfortunate. I think of pictures of myself in highschool where I remember thinking back then that I was "fat" and now I look at those pictures and see how skinny I was. Why did I think I was fat, when I wasn't?

Maybe cause all the girls said they thought they were fat and you saw yourself as a mirror image and/or similar size and shape as them so it must mean you too are fat?
