Yesterday I sent Ainsley off to First Grade.
Someone asked me, Did you cry?
Cry? I did cartwheels!
Which is an exaggeration. I felt a some relief.
Have you any idea what its like to work with two small children in your cube?
THIS is the reason I'm not doing cartwheels - Yet.
Zack is bored and lonely when his sister goes to school. He needs to go to preschool. Only I didn't realize my new town has only one and it fills up fast.
I'm praying for two biters and two separation anxieties - Zack's 4th on the list.
Mother's Day Out will give me 2 days a week to work uninterrupted. It will give him social contact with other children and stimulation. He's super smart - which is why he was trying to Make His Own Popcorn For Dinner. Check out his Potty Dance debut on YouTube.
How are ya'll managing your first day of school around the country?

Every year when KK was little and school started I was happy for the freedom it gave me but a nervous wreck for about a week til I got used to it. I'm not as bad with my two little ones, I think being a single parent with KK for 5 yrs made our relationship different than the relationship I have with the two little ones. I'm still happy when summer is over, I still worry for the first week or so, it's just not as intense.
I am doing cartwheels of course. What's all this crying mess about? Tears of joy maybe?
That video is so funny! He's gonna kill you for that some day! Lol!
I'm a nanny for FOUR kids.....I cannot wait for school to start! It doesn't start until after labor day here in NY. One more week, one more week, one more week....I'll be glad to be back to routine (oldest in 1st, 2 middle kids in morning preschool, baby at home w/ me), it's gonna seem like a piece of cake after having all four in my face all day wanting to be entertained. It didn't bother me at the beginning of the summer...but by now it's totally wearing on me!
Ainsley's close-up "first day of school" picture is adorable! She looks so happy to be going back to school! :)
